What is The HarvardAE Thought-Leadership Writing Incubator?
Many brilliant professionals have deep expertise, but when it comes to writing for their business, they hit a wall.
Some fear their ideas won’t translate well on the page. Others get stuck in the details, struggling to craft a narrative that resonates. And then there’s the challenge of consistency—turning sporadic writing into a sustained practice.
This is where a writing incubator makes all the difference. It provides a structured environment where experts not only write but also receive feedback, refine their voice, and develop the confidence to publish regularly.
A thought-leadership writing incubator is a great fit for knowledge-based firms selling on expertise, such as those in professional services, IT or asset management.
Could your firm benefit from a program modelled on the work we're doing for Harvard alumni?

About the Program
The Harvard Alumni Thought-Leadership Writing Incubator is a 10-week guided program designed to help subject-matter experts turn their knowledge into impactful thought leadership.
By overcoming common writing barriers—such as the blank-page syndrome and imposter syndrome—participants learn to articulate their insights effectively and build a sustainable writing habit.
Through a structured blend of coaching, co-writing sessions, and feedback, this incubator provides a clear pathway from expertise to influence. Participants leave not only with published work but also with the tools and confidence to continue writing long after the program ends.
Thought leadership becomes a core part of how participants think, communicate, and lead.
By the end of the incubator, participants have a portfolio of well-crafted content and a clear roadmap for sustaining their influence.
The program is an investment in long-term visibility, credibility, and impact.

What Are Participants Saying?

Thank you once again for setting me up during these 10 weeks for an incredible domino effect. You and your team transformed me in 10 weeks by taking what I had going and rearranged how it was presented. Although we won’t be able to prove this, this is a fact: I won the global Harvard NVC while I was signed up for your class. Hmmm.

Incubator Formats
Our Thought-Leadership Writing Incubator is built on three core formats that support experts in transforming their ideas into compelling content. Each format is designed to provide structure, feedback, and momentum—key elements for building a lasting writing habit.

Story Boot Camp
A deep dive into idea generation and structuring, the Story Boot Camp helps participants overcome resistance and write their first article. Through guided exercises, they learn to frame their expertise into engaging narratives that capture attention and deliver value.
Story Coaching
One-on-one coaching sessions provide personalized feedback and refinement. Participants receive line-by-line guidance on their writing, ensuring their ideas are clear, compelling, and positioned for maximum impact.

Co-Writing
Writing is easier—and more fun—with support. Our live co-writing sessions help participants stay accountable, break through creative blocks, and produce high-quality content alongside peers and expert coaches.
Each format works together to move participants from idea to influence, making writing an integrated part of their thought-leadership strategy.

Certificates
In the corporate edition of the Thought-Leadership Writing Incubator, we also provide certificates in recognition of participants' commitment to strategic, high-impact writing.
Participants who successfully engage in all program components, including Story Boot Camp, coaching sessions, and co-writing, will earn a certificate of completion.
This certificate serves as a formal acknowledgment of your expertise in thought-leadership writing and can be shared on professional platforms like LinkedIn or included in your portfolio.
Writing Coaches
Our expert writing coaches—seasoned journalists and thought-leadership specialists—help you refine your voice, structure ideas, and write with confidence. Through personalized coaching and live co-writing, they provide hands-on guidance to turn expertise into compelling content.

A big thank you to our sponsor, Sutra
